International collaborative effort to understand dengue and Zika

UC Berkeley's Eva Harris is co-leading the new DeZi network, a global effort to track dengue and Zika viruses across Africa, Asia, and the Americas using genomics, serology, and modeling. Her expertise from decades of cohort studies in Nicaragua, Ecuador, and Brazil will validate tools to distinguish infections, forecast epidemics, and strengthen surveillance amid climate-driven risks.
