AIDS Walk San Francisco
By Martina Vega, Communications and Partnerships Coordinator

The 40th annual San Francisco AIDS Walk took place on Sunday, July 19th. CEND was thrilled to participate in the event. This year, CEND raised $500 to support people living with HIV in the Bay Area. As a whole, SF AIDS Walk raised $828,628 (at the time of writing this)!

The 5k walk through Golden Gate Park reminds us of the terrible impact HIV has had on our Bay Area community, and it is a call to action to finally bring the HIV epidemic to an end.

CEND believes strongly in the power of bringing people together, not only to solve complex scientific questions, but also in support of community building. SF AIDS Walk exemplifies the reason why we support the work we do - to make the lives of others better! Whether you joined the walk to raise awareness, made a donation to support people, or engage in research to make better treatments available, thank you for helping CEND support our local Bay Area community!

A special thanks to the Ohainle Lab for partnering with CEND to represent UC Berkeley! Together, more than 20 of us participated!
