Accelerate innovative, multidisciplinary TB research that spans a broad spectrum of disciplines

About

UC TRAC provides research resources and infrastructure tailored to the needs of early-career and new-to-TB researchers at UCSF and UC Berkeley. By helping scientists navigate the unique technical and operational challenges of tuberculosis research, UC TRAC fosters cross-disciplinary collaboration to enhance the vibrancy of TB research across the University of California system, local Bay Area research communities, and global partners.

UC TRAC integrates expertise across four central cores to deliver comprehensive resources for researchers: Administrative, Developmental, Clinical & Population Health, and Basic Science. Resources include:

  • Funding & Seed Grants: Pilot awards and Accelerator awards designed specifically for early-stage and new-to-TB investigators.
  • Mentorship & Career Development: Tailored Early-Stage Investigators (ESI) mentorship tracks and global fellowship opportunities to cultivate the next generation of leaders in global infectious disease research.
  • Research Infrastructure & Services: Expert consultations, specialized scientific cores, and access to a curated TB data catalogue to streamline study design and execution.
  • Community Engagement: Direct collaboration with a dedicated Community Advisory Board to ensure research priorities reflect community-centered perspectives from project inception through results dissemination.
